The Challenge
UPS incorporated smart technology into wearables for loaders to o quickly and efficiently load packages to the trucks, while capturing misloads. The goal of these wearables to was just that, make load time quicker and more efficient by tracking the misloads and less time to take upon loading trucks/
The Process Design + Research
I was brought in for this project to conduxt UX research and design the new application based on the current situation of the wearables and pilot application.
By observing the users wearing the wearables and interviewing them, some of the findings included:
Users felt the wearable was uncomfortable at times and sometimes did not want to wear it.
There was sometimes a lag time from the wearable to the mobile device and sometimes missed scans.
By observing the MVP application was able to view
Various workflows to scan, track loads and how it tracked misloads
Where we could implement a better UX overall

Designing the new Application
Based on our findings I was able to work with our Product Managers on building a more intuitive application that provided
Intuitive UX with clear navigation
Easy to understand load flows
Clear misload flow, with notifications to let user know on misloads and ability to manage them quickly and efficiently
Results
A solution that was cohesive intuitive for users, helping them capture and manage loads.
