Winston Benefits is a Health Benefits Portal company providing health benefits to small to mid size companies to help their employees make quick and easy health insurance decisions based on their needs in a one stop shop.
The Project Problem
Winston’s existing system was an old out outdated web application that provided heavy data, or sometimes missing data that was unintuitive, and bogging down the user experience, frustrating users and companies’ needs.
The Solution
TI worked closely with the various stakeholders, call center team members and marketing to build a more intuitive framework that met customer and company needs.
Design + Research
Working with the call center team, I was able to gather some pain points users were experiencing in the existing system.
Conducted a heuristic evaluation on the existing system to collect UX pain points and design challenges
Was able to work directly with stakeholders on various complex user flows to design a seamless design that was intuitive and easy to use by creating
A simple design using card design with data hierarchy
Implemented a cartoon character called Saavy Sally that walked user through the portal to help them understand certain content and make decisions quickly and efficiently
Created a drawer to allow users where they started and items they completed to help them understand where they left off and where they need to confinue
Increased Usability by 50%
Increased Business Revenue by over 55%
